1098-T Tax Reporting
Columbus State Community College provides students with the opportunity to receive the 2015 Form 1098-T electronically. The 1098-T form can be viewed by visiting Columbus State Community College web site www.cscc.edu and logging onto your student account through CougarWeb.
The 1098-T Form is a "Tuition Payments Statement" that higher educational institutions are required to provide to eligible students and the IRS. You receive this form because higher education costs may be eligible for tax benefits. For more information please consult a tax professional or the IRS website at .
IRS regulations state that each student who wishes to receive their 1098-T electronically must also provide his/her consent electronically. Therefore, if you wish to take advantage of this, you must sign up.
1098-T tax reporting information for 2015 will be available online by January 31, 2016 for students whose qualified tuition and related expenses were incurred in 2015.
To view and print your 1098-T:
- You will need your User Id and Password: If you do not remember your user name click on the link at the bottom of the CougarWeb home page titled “What’s My User Id?” If you do not remember your password click on the link at the bottom of the CougarWeb home page titled “What’s My Password?”
Under Financial Information go to:
- 1098 Electronic Consent: Review the statements and if you agree with the first statement check the box. Once you consent, you will not be mailed a 1098-T.
- View my 1098-T forms: To print and view current and past 1098-T forms.
Columbus State is offering a Blue Print workshop titled “Your Education Tax Benefits” on February 15, 2016 in Aquinas Hall room 320 from 1pm to 2pm. This workshop will cover information about the 1098-T and the credits that you may be eligible for on your tax return, no reservation is necessary.
