Delaware Campus
Student Engagement and Leadership (SEaL) coordinates programs and leadership opportunities for students to grow and become involved during their time at CSCC. Currently SEaL offers wellness, social, community service, leadership and educational programs to students at the Delaware campus. From Weeks of Welcome to Civic Engagement to Wellness programming to to Zumba, there is an activity for every student to get involved. SEaL also advises student clubs and/or organizations on campus; to start a new club, please contact Heather Borland, Assistant Director (hborland@cscc.edu). SEaL encourages students to get involved and SEaL their success!

Meet the Student Ambassadors
The Student Ambassador Leadership Program provides students the opportunity to develop leadership skills while participating in various public relations, recruiting, and leadership programs at Columbus State; Student Ambassadors also earn money to help pay for tuition and other educational expenses. There are two tiers of participation; junior ambassadors are new to the program and required to attend weekly training and work 10 hours a week; senior ambassadors additionally serve as mentors to the junior ambassadors and chairpersons to wellness, leadership, service, recruitment, tours, and/or scheduling. Recruitment for 2013-2014 Student Ambassadors begins in March of each year. Membership in the Columbus State Student Ambassador Program is limited, but there are other leadership opportunities on campus.

The Do's and Don'ts of Being a College Student
Get involved and SEaL your Success!

January 14th – Do yourself a favor, enjoy Spring Semester; it will be fun!
Prepare yourself for Spring Semester; students can pick up handouts with important
dates and deadlines plus how to do a petition to graduate. Enjoy giveaways such as
planners, pens, pencils and CSCC clothes.
January 23rd – Do seek advice from Advisors!
Why see an advisor? Students can learn the importance of seeing an advisor and when they are available, as well as college visitation dates for transfer students. Locations of all advisors at all regional campuses and their hours of operation will be provided.
January 28th – Do keep it clean!
Everyone loves social media. Learn the importance of monitoring what you put online, how potential employers and schools can easily access your social media life at the click of a button. .
February 4th – Don't be silly, be safe
Information on STD's, local clinics, symptoms and when to get checked. Condoms and educational information on birth control will be available.
February 13th – Do become a student ambassador!

February 18th – Don't succumb to the college 15!
Enjoy examples of workouts students can do at home, information on free and credit exercise classes offered at CSCC. Workouts for all fitness levels, pedometer, yoga mat and more. Visit the myfitnesspalapp (an app for people to monitor their calorie intake).
February 27th – Do be aware, NEDA week!
Educate students on eating disorders, not just bulimia and anorexia, many other characteristics you wouldn't think would be classified as an eating disorder. Make an inspirational button or get a picture taken at the photo booth to signify you are beautiful. What you see on the outside is just that, an image, there's so much more to a person than what's on the outside.
March 6th – Don't travel unprotected this spring break!
Offer educational information on the importance of vaccinations when going to exotic places, what not to eat/drink in rural vacation spots. Keep safe against the sun and bugs that may carry disease. What are the best places to vacation and estimated costs. Students can enjoy great giveaways such as duffle bags, sun screen, water bottles etc.
March 18th – Do serve your community; volunteer!
Learn how volunteering can help you and others. Serve others while building a great resume. Find out where you can volunteer in the Delaware area and learn how to join our S.O.S. events at Columbus campus and sign up to be mailed updates?
March 27th – Don't spend money you don't have; grocery style!
Get great tips on how to shop healthy without breaking the bank, couponing and information on local stores with the best prices. Enjoy handouts, shopping bags and healthy snacks like fruit.
April 1st – Don't forget those who served our country!
Invite Veterans Services and educate students about them, how they can give back honoring veterans at CSCC. Ohio Benefit Bank and Disabilities services will be on site to offer information.
April 10th – Don't accept cancer, fight it!
We all know someone affected by cancer! Join us for an information filled day on cancer awareness, prevention and advocacy. Let's continue the fight against it and honor those who have survived it, are fighting it or have lost their battle with cancer. Photo booth and button making opportunity.
April 15th – Don't be plastic, be green!
If you know the movie 'Mean Girls' you know the plastics of those materialistic hot shots in high school who are always all dolled up, so don't be plastic be green, green meaning for 'natural'. Tips on how to recycle, what to recycle, pollution facts and more. Offer information on how Moeller Hall itself is an eco friendly building and a list of all the characteristics that make it a 'green' facility.
April 25th – Do visit the vendors at Spring Fling!
Spring Fling occurs every Spring Semester (April) engaging students in activities with refreshments and information about our campus and community resources. Students are able to speak with faculty/staff and participate in a wide variety of activities Community organizations, fun activities for all, social interaction between students and staff.
April 29th – Do give yourself a break; make it a day for YOU!
Finals are 2 weeks away and for some students they are already stressing, students can pick up stress management skills and how to take care of themselves. There will be information on places around Delaware that are good to have a "you day", such as spas or golfing etc.
May 1st – Don't get distracted- prepare for finals effectively!
Finals will be a week away and students will be in frenzy, we will have tips on how to manage time, effective study skills, importance of sleep, what to eat, when to study and when not study and the importance of setting goals during these times. Information on stress management; Tips to overcome stress; exercises, crafts, breathing techniques etc. Come pick up a planner
