Meet the SeaL TEAM

Sabrina A. Ayers, Office Associate, sayers2@cscc.edu
Sabrina has been the office associate of SEaL since 2009. She earned her Bachelors
of Art Degree from the Ohio Dominican University and is currently working on a Master’s
of Management Degree with the University of Phoenix. Within her position, Sabrina
works with campus clubs and organizations by assisting with the purchase of products
while providing guidance concerning Columbus State policies. She also advises students
regarding the necessary steps required to start a new club and supports campus life
programs, including the Student Ambassadors. At any time during the day, you may
find Sabrina assisting students, staff, or faculty should they find themselves in
the SEaL office. Sabrina is an advisor for the Real Life Club and a member of the
MAN Initiative Committee.
Sarah Baker, Assistant, sbaker43@cscc.edu
Sarah is currently completing her Early Childhood Education degree at Ohio Dominican
University, with plans of obtaining her Masters in Higher Education Administration.
She works at CSCC as the Assistant in Student Engagement and Leadership and serves
as a founding board member of the Columbus State Leadership Society. Sarah’s passion
is the development and success of students; in her current role at CSCC, she enjoys
mentoring students, including the Student Ambassador’s. Sarah began career at CSCC
as a Junior Student Ambassador in 2009, proceeded by becoming a Senior student Ambassador,
which opened doors to bigger opportunities on CSCC’s campus. Sarah Is a collector
of art, books and coffee brewing equipment, she volunteers her time at a local art
and toy gallery in Columbus’ Short North.
Heather Borland, Assistant Director, hborland@cscc.edu
Heather began her career at Columbus State Community College in 1999 as the Head Women’s
Cross Country Coach and Coordinator of Student and Recreational Activities in the
Department of Student Activities and Athletics; in 2002, she became the supervisor
of Student Activities and Wellness programs. Heather added the Student Ambassador
Leadership Program to her position in 2004; during 2011 she was promoted into her
current position, as the Assistant Director of Student Engagement and Leadership.
She earned a BA in Psychology and Exercise Science from Ohio Wesleyan University and
a MS in Exercise Physiology from Ohio University. She is currently a member of the
Ohio Academy for Leadership and Development and Ohio College Personnel Association.
Heather has a passion for wellness, sports, and working with students. She enjoys
spending time with her husband Ryan and three children Colbi, Cale and Eli.
Kimberly Rhyan, Director, krhyan@cscc.edu
Kimberly Rhyan joined Columbus State Community College in April 2012 as the Director
of Student Engagement and Leadership. Kimberly is excited about engaging students
and developing student leaders at Columbus State! She earned her Master of Arts in
Creative Art Therapy from Hofstra University in Hempstead, NY. She has been working
in Higher Education for the past nine years; her passion is developing, facilitating
and assessing leadership and service programs to nurture student success. Kimberly
is an artist and received her B.A. in Fine Art from Mount Vernon Nazarene University.
Kimberly continually strives to live out the motto of her alma mater, “To seek to
learn to seek to serve.” During her free-time, she enjoys spending time with her family,
being an artist, and volunteering with ARTalum, a society she founded in 2002 to raise
money for art scholarships.
