Take Action: International Women’s Day—Honor Diaries Screening and Panel Discussion

Wednesday March 5 from 11:00 a.m. - 12:30 p.m. in the Library Media Studio

In honor of International Women's Day, we will be hosting the screening of the film "Honor Diaries". There will be a discussion with an honorary panel directly after the film screening. 

Take Action: Wellness & Empowerment Fair, featuring My Very Own BlanketBlanket

Wednesday, March 19 from 11:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. in the Delaware Hall Gymnasium Moved to Nestor Hall, West Lounge.

Maintaining good health and wellness takes a conscious effort and dedication! Participants will be empowered to achieve their full potential by living holistically. In addition to the fair, participants can impact their community by creating a blanket for a youth in foster care; the blankets will benefit My Very Own Blanket.

Monday, March 24 from 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. in Nestor Hall, West Lounge

Enhance the lives of others by “giving the gift of life”. Feel free to give of yourself and receive rewarding gratification that only giving brings.

Women's "Herstory" Month Leadership Awards and Speed Networking

Wednesday, March 26 from 11:30 a.m. - 12:45 p.m. in WD (4th Floor Ballroom)
Speed Networking will convene from 1:00-2:00 p.m. 

Dawn-LeeWe are honored to have Keynote Speaker, Dawn Tyler Lee, Senior Vice-President of United Way, in attendance to speak with attendees. Come celebrate the achievements of Outstanding Women Leaders from Columbus State—students and employees will be recognized.  A Speed Networking Workshop will follow directly after the Herstory Month Leadership Awards Ceremony.

Nominate an outstanding woman leader by Friday, February 28.

Nominate faculty, staff, or students for the Outstanding Woman Leader Award by completing and submitting the nomination formMultiple women can win this award.

Additional nominations are being sought for a faculty or staff member who has
worked at Columbus State for at least five years and demonstrates a legacy in leadership. Complete and submit the nomination form for the Legacy in Leadership Award. 

Nominate a woman for the Legacy in Leadership Award by Friday, February 28.

Read Across America Day, “Poem in Your Pocket” Event

Monday, March 3 - All day at the Delaware Learning Center

Celebrate Women’s Herstory Month and Read Across America Day with a ‘Poem in Your Pocket’ by a female author! Come to the Delaware learning center and take an excerpt of a poem with you for the day! Read it, share it with others, and celebrate womens’ contributions to the world of reading.

Women’s Wellness and Empowerment Day-Free Yoga Class presented by Perfect Harmony Fitness and Yoga

Thursday, March 20 at 11:30 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. in Moeller Hall 111 and 112

Engage your mind, body, and spirit with the practice of yoga! Two, 45-minute classes will be offered with instruction by Alice Drew Yoder of Perfect Harmony Fitness and Yoga, LLC. Pre-registration is encouraged, please contact the Delaware SEaL office at (740) 203-8175 for details.

Coffeehouse Open Mic-presented by Columbus State and OSU Marion

Thursday, March 27 from 12:30 p.m. - 2:00 p.m. in Moeller Hall 111 and 112

A great opportunity to have your voice heard! Whether it’s poetry, music, or another creative talent, students, faculty, and staff are welcome to share their talents at the open mic. While everyone is welcome to participate, the theme of March’s open mic is experiences of Character, Courage, and Commitment. Be the star or sit back and enjoy the show! Live musical entertainment and light refreshments will be available.
