Get Ready for College! A lot of students need a little help getting up to speed for college-level courses, especially Math and English. Columbus State is committed to meeting students where they are, and helping them get where they need to go.

Where do I go? Your first step is usually to take the COMPASS Placement test to see where you stand. At Post-COMPASS Advising, they'll help you get signed up for the right class.

Developmental Education

GED Prep / Academic Enrichment

GED PrepColumbus State offers a high-quality, low-cost GED Prep program. Students learn from highly qualified teachers in a college environment.

Language Institute

Language InstituteThe Language Institute offers basic English instruction to non-native English speakers, as well as basic instruction in other languages.

STEM Summer Bridge

STEM Summer BridgeSTEM studentsOur STEM Summer Bridge Program is a tuition-free program designed to prepare Associate of Science majors for academic success at Columbus State.

CougarEdge

CougarEdgeCougarEdge is a program for students who test into both DEV 0105 (Basic Math) and DEV 0140 (Intermediate Reading). It's offered at no cost to students.

Math 1099

GED PrepMath 1099 is a unique refresher course for those who've studied pre-college Math before. The class is self-paced and mastery-based.

PSEO / Dual Enrollment / K-12 Programs

PSEOThere's no better time to get ready for college than when you're still in high school. The PSEO and Dual Enrollment programs allow you to take college classes while still in high school.

College Prep Math

PSEOCollege Prep Math is an innovative program that brings Columbus State resources into high school math. It's currently offered at Reynoldsburgh High School, with more schools planned.
