Students completing MHAD 1114: Introduction to Addiction Studies meets the 40 hour education requirement for the Chemical Dependency Counselor Assistant Phase I with the Ohio Chemical Dependency Professionals Board.

Graduates who have earned an Associate of Applied Science in MH/AS/DD are eligible to apply for a Certificate of Registration as a Social Worker Assistant with the State of Ohio Counselor and Social Worker Board. Graduates also meet the degree requirement for the License Chemical Dependency Counselor II (LCDC II)
