Associate Degree

We offer an Associate of Applied Science Degree preparing students for the field of  Human which includes, Mental Health, Addiction Studies, and Developmental Disabilities as well as general social work related services.

Associate Degree programs generally take two years to complete, and qualify graduates for employment immediately upon graduation and also can be transferred toward a bachelor degree.  This degree prepares you to become a state-registered Social Work Assistant, helping clients and working closely with treatment professionals, program and case managers, social workers, other clinicians and educators. This degree also meets the degree requirement to become a licensed chemical dependency counselor.

This degree  includes 420 hours of hands-on internships, working with clients at one of our 100+ partner agencies. Our graduates work in a diverse settings.

Transfer Agreements

The MH/AS/DD program is working to develop transfer agreements with many different colleges throughout central Ohio that will allow you to apply your associate degree toward a bachelor's degree.  Current information is available in the Transfer office of CSCC.

The Associate Degree in the Addiction Studies Tract meets the degree requirement and the chemical dependency educational content required for the Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor II  (LCDC II)
