Where is Student Services located and when are you open?

Student Services is located on the lower level of Moeller Hall at the Delaware Campus.

Business hours:

  • Monday - 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
  • Tuesday - 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
  • Wednesday - 8:00 am - 6:30 pm
  • Thursday 8:00 am - 6:00 pm
  • Friday 9:30 am - 4 pm

Walk-In Hours:

  • Monday-Thursday 9:00 am - 11:00 am; 2pm - 5:00pm
  • Friday 10:00 am - 2:30 pm

Can I take the COMPASS placement test at Delaware?

The Delaware Campus has a full-service testing center.

Hours of Operation:

  • Mon/Fri: 9 am - 5 pm*
  • Wed: 9 am - 8 pm*
  • Tues/Thurs: 2 pm - 8 pm*

*Students need to begin placement testing at least 2 hours before closing

I finished my COMPASS placement test. When can I see an advisor?

Attend a Registration Workshop after completing your COMPASS placement test. Registration workshops are offered each week. Call 740-203-8345 to reserve your seat!

Do I need an appointment to see an advisor?

Scheduling an appointment can help you feel better prepared to discuss your questions. An advising appointment reserves a 30-minute time slot with an advisor that may include long-term planning for your degree program, admission requirements for a program, discussion of academic standing and career goals.  Delaware Campus Student Services staff also schedule appointments for questions about Residency, VA Benefits, and Financial Aid appeals. Students who need to meet with an advisor to clear a restriction, must schedule an appointment.

What do I need to bring to my appointment?

It is important for you to bring a photo ID, your Cougar ID number, and any necessary materials the advisor may need to accurately advise you during your appointment.

How can I contact an advisor if I cannot/do not want to come to campus?

While in-person appointments can resolve most issues, some questions may be answered by phone or e-mail. For a quick question, feel free to contact us:

  • If you are a current student, provide your full name, CougarID number, program of study, and Columbus State Community College email address.

I have a faculty advisor. Can I schedule an appointment with a Delaware Student Services advisor so I can be seen sooner?

It is important that you meet with the appropriate advisor. The advisors for your field of study are best prepared to advise you in your program here at Columbus State. To find your appropriate advisor, please visit http://www.cscc.edu/services/advising/ct-advisors.shtml.

I need to have my transcript evaluated for transfer of credit; can an advisor do this for me?

Advisors cannot provide official transcript evaluation, but we can conduct a preliminary screening to determine if you need to take a placement test and/or to give permission to take a particular course. If you plan on attending Columbus State for more than one quarter, you will need to submit official transcript(s) from all colleges previously attended to Columbus State.

Do I need a parking permit?

A Columbus State parking permit is required to park at the Delaware Campus. The cost is $35 per semester. The permit is valid for all Columbus State locations. Parking permits can be ordered and purchased on CougarWeb.
