Mark Van Horn, video developer in Marketing and Communi- cations, is able to “turn our ideas into beautiful works of art”, according to members of the Staff Advisory Council.
Darla Van Horn
As office associate in Disability Services for many years, Darla Van Horn was the go-to person for students, parents, employees and other visitors to the department, who knew her as the friendly voice on the phone and the familiar face in the office.
Carmelita Boyer, administrative assistant, is the nerve center for the complex and varied needs of the Human Resources Department, according to Deborah Heater. “If you are not sure who can provide a particular HR need, Carmelita can help you!” she says. Read more
Rod Harris is described as professional, personable, prompt, and proactive by his nominator for the September Staff Employee of the Month. “We often find he has repaired something before we even get a chance to call it in,” says Kim Hatchet in her nomination. Read more
Betty Richardson is a person willing to take the lead on projects
both large and small. Richardson, a Help Desk specialist who recently became
an Asset Management technician, is a member of Staff Advisory Council, and, in addition to her regular duties, often takes the
initiative in promoting and organizing SAC fundraisers and donation collections.
Dana Knott can multi-task with the best of them, finding articles and resources for students’ research papers, while simultaneously helping them with computer issues and signing out laptops for their use! Read more

Adrienne Luke has only worked for Columbus State for one year, but already she has made a big impact on her own department and others.
Nominated by her supervisor Tiffany McClain, Luke was given the Staff Employee of the Month Award at the First Wednesday meeting May 8. Read more
Not only is Frank Sugar the best-dressed Public Safety employee on the beat, he is also “conscientious, friendly, hard-working, and accountable,” according to Babette Money, the recently retired Supervisor of Safety & Security.
Amy Burrell has worked more than 25 years advocating for the thousands of international students at Columbus State. Her dedicated work in that role earned her the March Staff Employee of the Month award.
