“Great Colleges” survey results set benchmarks
Columbus State thanks employees for their participation in both the 2012 and 2013 “Great Colleges to Work For” survey, sponsored by The Chronicle of Higher Education and Modern Think LLC. Collecting two years of data enables us to establish a baseline measure for improvement in a number of areas as well as celebrate our most positive attributes.
Our survey results remained consistent over the two years. The college was rated "Good to Very Good" in the Pride category and we were rated "Good" in the areas of Professional Development, Compensation, Benefits, Work/Life Balance, Supervisors/Department Chairs, Teaching Environment, and Job Satisfaction/Support. Areas identified as "Warrants Attention" include Communication, Shared Governance, Senior Leadership, Faculty, Administrator and Staff Relations, and Collaboration. Employees can view summary results of the Great Colleges To Work For survey on the intranet: http://intranet.cscc.edu/bestcolleges/.
An element of what makes Columbus State a great place to work is the commitment to quality improvement that all employees share. Later this year, employees will have the opportunity to participate in facilitated discussions about the survey findings in order to identify what works well and what can be improved. Together we will continue to make Columbus State a great college to work for.
