Testing, Testing … July 11 – 15

logoFrom July 11 through July 15, systems specialists/functional subject matter experts from Admissions, Business Services, Curriculum Management, Financial Aid, and Records and Registration will be heavily involved in testing system changes that will support the upcoming semester conversion. This work is critical to a successful transition and may result in those involved being less available for everyday tasks or special requests. During those five days, you can assist the process by being aware of the integrated testing and by scheduling detailed projects for another time. Questions? Contact Todd Warner at ext. 2598.

DARS also unavailable July 11-17

The college's Degree Audit Report System (DARS) will be unavailable for use July 11 through 17 due to planned maintenance related to the semester conversion.

Students from McGraw-Hill Education present their Capstone Project at the completion of the 21st Century Skills course.

Earlier in June, 20 McGraw-Hill employees received a 21st Century Skills diploma from Columbus State after enhancing their leadership skills with curriculum customized for their company. The program was developed for McGraw-Hill by Columbus State’s Business and Industry division in Community Education and Workforce Development. Administrator Cheryl Hay worked with chair of the Business Programs Department, Angelo Frole to put together the curriculum.

Course topics included personal development, communication, working with others, dealing with change, professional development, and a capstone project where participants demonstrated lessons-learned in a real business context.

"This course dramatically improves teamwork as well as communication and presentation skills among co-workers, who finished the program with the knowledge they need to compete in the global, competitive workplace,” said Tim Williams, senior vice president Customer Operations for McGraw-Hill Education and Workforce Committee co-chair for the Columbus Regional Logistics Council.
