Session on electronic teaching tools from ITDL
“Teaching with the New Electronic Tools: No Versions. No Walls. No Halls. No Problem!” is back by popular demand. No longer does learning have to stop at the door. Instruction has evolved, and so have the tools and channels. Attend this half-day session with Instructional Technologies and Distance Learning to get a hands-on look at how you can take the tools we have to create you own "brand" of instruction. The session will be offered on Friday, April 9 (9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.). Register A snack will be provided during this event.
All campus computers to join Active Directory Domain
This process will begin automatically at login and will take 5-20 minutes per machine to complete. You will need to be present at the computer during the process to enter your login credentials when prompted to do so. During this period of time you will not be able to use the computer for other functions.
The work will begin April 5 with computers located in Union Hall. IT will work through each building with a phased approach to completing the campus. Each subsequent building/floor will be given several days notice before the process begins in that building.
The Active Directory joining process presents a series of messages that will indicate the system progress on the computer. Any time you are presented with a login prompt you will need to enter your login information as you normally would.
IT will be standing by to provide assistance with any computer challenges that occur during this process. If you have questions, contact the Columbus State Help Desk at ext 5050.
Some inconvenience on Cleveland Ave.
On Tuesday, construction began on Cleveland Avenue for storm sewer improvements, and it is being reduced to one lane of two-way traffic with flaggers between Mt. Vernon Avenue and Spring Street. This restriction will be in place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily until mid-April, weather permitting. The work is being done by the City of Columbus.
Auto Tech scheduling fixes
The Automotive Technology Lab will be scheduling lab work for the AUTO 300 - Shop Experience class. If your car is 10 years old or newer, and has a problem that does not require major engine or transmission work, or a problem that has a labor time of 4.5 hours or more, then the shop experience class may be able to help.
For more information, please email Dave Hill at firstname.lastname@example.org. Please note that there are a very limited number of appointments available and there is a $10 lab fee for work performed. No phone calls please.
