Associate is “key” to students’ experience
Leslie Washington lends so much Columbus State spirit to the offices of Health, Dental and Vet Technologies that students say she is “key” to their experience in college.
Connie Clark, coordinator for Dental Hygiene Technology, nominated Washington for the March Staff Employee of the Month award, saying, “Leslie provides an environment that is fun while learning. She is liked and respected by employees and students.”
“With the greatest enthusiasm, Leslie answers numerous questions on a daily basis about application to our programs. She has studied each program so that she can provide accurate information and advice to help the students be successful,” said Clark.
“Leslie also ensures that materials are ready for any event, including every detail that could be imagined! Speakers comment on how easy it was to come (here) and move around campus, including having a parking pass, and even refreshments.”
Washington has worked at Columbus State for six years—the last two of them in her current position. Not surprisingly, this people person’s favorite part of her job is “the social interaction with students and my fellow colleagues.”
“Leslie is a great asset to the department, staff and students,” added Terrence Brown, chair of Health, Dental and Veterinary Technologies. “She is an outstanding employee.”
