Find the hidden birdie!bird photo
Snuggled into the wildflower bed on Grove Street, this American Woodcock camouflages himself at the roots of a tree. Birdwatchers Joyce Willison and Steve Wolfinger spotted the bird, which is rarely seen in an urban environment, preferring open woods and overgrown fields. They snagged Joel McLaughlin to take this colorful photo.

Columbus State’s Dental Hygiene degree program began Winter Quarter 1999 and graduated the first class Summer Quarter 2000. To honor the milestone, students, alumni, and employees in the program held a celebration event October 17 with many alumni returning to campus to share stories and reconnect with each other. The event also served as the first meeting of the newly formed CSCC Dental Hygiene Alumni Network, an initiative of the Development Foundation. The group plans to have an event each year offering continuing education credits to all alumni who attend as well as a networking opportunity through Facebook.

A scholarship fund was also initiated to honor Connie Grossman RDH. The scholarship will be awarded to a worthy second-year dental hygiene student. Funds may be donated to the scholarship here.
