The New Wellness Incentive Program at Columbus State has startedColumbus State is now partnering with The Ohio State University Managed Health Care Systems, Inc., to offer an incentive program to all full-time employees.
In the program, employees who complete: 1) a biometric screening, 2) a personal health assessment and 3) a session of health coaching, are qualified to receive a $150 incentive from Columbus State in June 2009.
By taking part in various wellness activities offered throughout the year, employees can accumulate additional wellness points to earn up to an additional $150. These wellness activities might include attending Lunch and Learn workshops, getting a flu shot, participating in the Wellness Challenge, and many additional opportunities.
(Some activities that took place in late 2008, such as October flu shots and Lunch and Learn Workshops, will be counted toward points for the Wellness Incentive Program.)
Through the Ohio State Managed Health Care Systems, Columbus State now has a portal to WebMD, a medical and healthy living Web site that offers a wealth of information concerning your health. Also included on Columbus State’s WebMD site will be a location for you to sign up for your Personal Health Assessment, Biometric Screening, and Health Coaching sessions.
When you access the WebMD site, you will be prompted to register with a login and password. After you register, you will be able to sign up for your first step: the biometric screening. Biometric screening is a finger-prick blood test and other measurements which take about 20 minutes to complete and will be performed on campus. The first screening is scheduled for January 26.
You can get additional information about Columbus State’s new Wellness Incentive Program by contacting Nichole Bowman-Glover, Wellness Coordinator at Columbus State, at (614) 287-3989.
Wellness Initiative Body Challenge V begins - Is your Team up for the challenge?Set New Year wellness goals and allow this competition to motivate you! The next Wellness Challenge will begin January 26 and run through May 29.
The CSCC Wellness Initiative is soliciting team challengers who are interested in spending the next four months making some impact on their health.
Interested employees should select a team of 10 people with one person designated as the captain to coordinate efforts for their group. This individual will collect all of the contact information for their team members and will be the point person for all communication throughout the event. All teams should have a name. If you cannot gather enough team members, you can contact Nichole Bowman-Glover, Wellness Coordinator, to help assemble your team.
Like previous competitions, this challenge will work on a point system. For every hour of a wellness activity that you participate in, you will earn wellness points. This includes physical activities, wellness seminars, wellness classes, support groups, walking, etc. Tracking sheets and step log sheets will be distributed to team captains.
Teams will submit totals for a midway check-in to tally team standings. Teams will receive all the guidelines for the challenge once they have registered to compete. Team members and captains must adhere to the guidelines, tracking and logging of activities. All participants are required to track and turn in their information by the deadlines. Best of all, the top team will receive a prize!
If you are interested, select a team leader and contact Nichole Bowman-Glover, wellness coordinator, ext. 3989, by January 23.
