Faculty: Columbus Arts Festival parking reminders for students
All faculty should remind their students that most of the parking lots and the garage on campus will be charging $5 to park after 4 p.m. Friday, June 6 (all day for the garage and lot 11-S), and all day Saturday and Sunday, June 7 and 8, during the Columbus Arts Festival. Free parking for students during the festival will be available in most lots on the west side of Cleveland Avenue and in the Fort Hayes High School lots on Leonard Avenue. Employees also will be able to park free at Fort Hayes.
Many distance learning students and others will be scheduled to take finals and make-up tests in the Testing Center on the days during the Festival, and faculty should make sure to remind them about the parking situation. If students do not have a valid Spring Quarter parking pass, they will have to pay $5 to park in a Columbus State lot.
The Festival will take place in the Discovery District, with many of the events and venues set up on our campus, including the music stages and other events in our 12-S parking lot.
The 12-S parking lot adjacent to the parking garage will be closed completely beginning Thursday morning (June 5) for Arts Festival setup.
Students and employees needing handicapped parking will be able to park in lot 10-V, in front of Nestor Hall.
Proceeds from the Arts Festival parking will go to the Columbus State Development Foundation for scholarships.

Sometimes it’s hard to tell who’s having a better time out there eating free ice cream and playing inflatable games—employees or students. But there’s something for everyone, including the Hospitality Management students preparing their trademark bratwurst, corn on the cob and potato salad. Student groups and college departments will be outside manning information tables, caricature artists and balloon sculptors will be on every corner, and the inflatable sumo wrestlers will be running amok. Don’t miss it!
