Staff member of month ASSET to Automotive Department ![]() Chuck Wilson As coordinator of the Ford ASSET program, Chuck Wilson does it all, according to his nominator for the Staff Employee of the Month award, David Hill. "He does everything to ensure that the Ford ASSET program is meeting the needs of the dealerships that employ his students, and the students themselves. Chuck also makes sure that the program has a positive image out in the community," reports Hill. "He routinely travels all over Ohio to recruit students for not only the ASSET program, but also the Automotive Technology," says Hill. "He meets with employers of current and past students to get their feedback on the students' progress and to help facilitate a bridge between the work site and the classroom. His attitude to seize the opportunity is infectious!" Dr. Andy Rezin, chair of the Automotive Technology department says, "Chuck always looks for a way to make good things happen in spite of obstacles, rather than ever considering that it can't be done. His positive attitude, constant energy and technical abilities continue to inspire his students and his coworkers."

Wellness Initiative announces "Body Challenge" results The goal of the Body Challenge was to create a healthier and more physically active environment on campus and for many of the participants, this goal was achieved. Participants had the opportunity to spend three months altering behaviors that would impact their weight, body mass index (BMI), body composition (BC), circumference, aerobic output, and the amount of steps taken per day. Eight teams with a total of 116 participants took part in the challenge, and the majority of the contestants made positive changes, according to Don Laubenthal of the Human Performance Center. The HPC staff took initial and final assessments of all participants. The competition worked on a point system and individuals earned points through changes in body weight, body composition/body mass index, circumference, and aerobic capacity. Point adjustments were made to account for variations in team size. The results: Top Teams Biggest Achiever per Team Biggest Overall Achiever Congratulations to all those who participated! The CSCC Wellness Advisory Committee would like you to keep your eyes open for the next Wellness Challenge which will begin soon. |
