CSCC Cougar Identification ID Cards: IDs are required to be shown to access campus activities and services. The ID is created at the public safety office. To protect your identity, as well as others, you must bring another government photo ID as proof of your identity. Replacement Cougar ID cards can be purchased at the Cashier's Office, and by bringing the paid receipt to the public safety office. CSCC Parking Permits: Parking on Columbus State campuses and sites is by permit only for staff and students. Student permits expire on the last day of each quarter. Student parking is restricted to students currently attending class or attending to college related business. To purchase a permit, tuition and fees must be paid at the Cashier's Office. Columbus State disclaims all responsibility for losses and damages to vehicles parked on Columbus State campuses and sites. Columbus State is not responsible for losses or damages to any vehicle towed from a campus or site. For more information on parking http://www.cscc.edu/Publicsafety/parking.htm Escorts. Anytime you come to, leave or walk on campus, you may request an escort. This is encouraged in the evening hours to get you safely to where you need to go. Call the Campus Police Department at 614-287-2525 and tell the Dispatcher where you are and where you are going. Officers are glad to walk you to your on-campus destination. Vehicle problems. Campus Police officers will attempt to assist with jump-starts. If the officer cannot help, you will be assisted in contacting someone who can. The department works closely with the State Highway Patrol, the Franklin County Sheriff and the Columbus Police. The department also has a working relationship with other university police departments. The Public Safety department has 18 officers and 12 full time support staff members to serve the Columbus State Campus community 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Many of the officers are also trained as Bike patrol officers, increasing visibility and improving student assistance, as well as nationally registered First Responders.
Access To Campus Buildings. Most
college academic facilities are open from 6:15 a.m. to 11 p.m. Monday
through Friday. Weekend hours vary due to schedules and use of
buildings. Anyone wishing to enter a building after hours will need to
contact the Campus Police department for assistance.
