EDUC 220
Technology in the classroom

Today’s classroom technology is more than just spreadsheets and overhead projectors. In this class, you’ll learn how to use social networking sites, how to create engaging blogs and how to construct fun and professional-looking websites.

“I’m going to teach them how to really harness technology so if they can dream it, they can do it,” says Professor Carolyn Kaufman. “People can work on things that interest them at their own level.”

EDUC 220 teaches education majors how to set up and configure hardware, how to use spreadsheets and databases, and how to manage online or distance-based learning. You’ll learn how to create effective graphics, and even how to combat academic dishonesty, all while making your classroom a more effective learning environment for your students.

This course is part of the Associate of Arts Degree in Education sequence at Columbus State. The Associate of Arts fulfills the first two years of a bachelor’s degree at most Ohio colleges, so you can finish up at schools like Ohio State or Ohio University. EDUC 220 is required of education majors nationwide, and its prerequisites are EDUC 210 or PSY 200.
