Lots of Options: At Columbus State, we offer both two-year associate degree programs and shorter certificates. Whether you’re just breaking into the health care field, or adding credentials to further your health care career, we have the program for you.

Take time to explore each department's Web page. In addition to traditional nursing, there are a number of careers you may not have considered. Do you work well with people in crisis? You may want to consider a Mental Health field. Good with laboratory equipment? Consider Nuclear Medicine or Phlebotomy.

Getting Started: Thinking about a health field, but not sure where to start? First, talk to our Admissions Counselors to get general information on our programs.

In most cases, it’s necessary to apply to Columbus State, get accepted, and take placement tests before you can get into a health field. Several programs have their own applications, so check each program’s Web site for specific admission information.

After you’re enrolled, you can make an appointment with Advising and Counseling to finalize your plans and set your schedule. Please note: Our health programs are in high demand, and several are competitive. It’s often a good idea to finish off your general education requirements before starting on your major.
