Job prospects for Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning are "excellent," according to the Bureau of Labor Statistics' Occupational Outlook Handbook:
"Employment of heating, air-conditioning, and refrigeration mechanics and installers is projected to increase 28 percent during the 2008-18 decade, much faster than the average for all occupations."
The Heating, Ventilating and Air Conditioning Technology program prepares graduates for a wide variety of occupations in the $150 billion dollar mechanical environmental sciences field. Graduates find employment with large commercial heating and air conditioning contractors, residential mechanical contractors, parts and equipment distributors, large commercial and industrial facility maintenance departments, hospitals, custom design and new construction markets.

Thirteen Columbus State HVAC students and two of their instructors recently participated in the annual charity event, “Heat the Town.” The event is sponsored by the Air Conditioning Contractors of Central Ohio and the Breathing Association of Central Ohio.
It’s the fifth year in a row that Columbus State’s HVAC students have participated in Heat the Town, where they are able to help the community, receive valuable field experience, and network with industry professionals.
