SafeZone is a program designed to create a safe and embracing
environment for lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender (LGBT)
individuals. SafeZone members are comprised of individuals who have
received training to educate themselves about issues within the lesbian,
gay, bisexual, and transgender community.
Members are committed to being open, accepting and providing
resource information for LGBT individuals.

The Male Access Network (MAN) Initiative is an entertaining, educational
and empowering year-long project that will focus on character-building
and leadership development for young male students at Columbus State
Community College. Through monthly meetings with a cohort of men, the
project will use discussion, programming and mentoring to aid accepted
fellows in connecting to academic, student service, college and
community networks. The MAN Initiative has been customized by a
dedicated committee of CSCC faculty, staff and administration especially
for male students at Columbus State who are interested in planning for
lifelong success.
The Cougar Conversation Partners Program matches native English speakers
with non-native English speakers within the Columbus State Community
College campus to provide an opportunity for individuals to practice
language, share cultural heritage and gain confidence in the
communication of thoughts and ideas. Participation in the Cougar
Conversation Partners Program is a great way to gain volunteer
experience and to become or remain proficient as a language learner.
For more information on how to apply to be a conversation partner,
