Teacher Quality Enhancement Scholarship Program (TQE)
Middle School Math and Science Scholarship

Become a middle school math/science teacher!

Scholarship Opportunity

The Teacher Quality Enhancement (TQE) Scholarship Program is for Columbus State students who desire a teaching career in mathematics or  science at the middle school level.  Students currently enrolled in the Associate of Arts or Science programs at Columbus State with a 2.5 GPA may qualify for this       scholarship of $2,500 annually.

After completing an Associate of Arts or Science degree, scholarship   recipients transfer to a TQE       Scholarship Partner school to complete a bachelor’s or master’s degree to become a certified teacher. The scholarship money continues at the rate of $2,500 per year through completion of your degrees. Additional funds from   Partner colleges may be available to further assist  with tuition expenses.

After teacher certification and completion of degrees, scholarship recipients are required to teach in the Columbus Public School middle school system for the same length of time as the scholarship was received. For example, if you received the scholarship for four years, you would teach for four years.*

*(Note: if the student chooses not to teach middle school in the Columbus Public Schools, the scholarship money must be repaid, similar to a regular student loan.)
